Representing Thuringian Interests The office represents the interests of Thuringia towards the EU institutions and provides a platform for the Thuringian government in Brussels.
Early Warning System At an early stage, the office informs the state government on planned activities of the EU, filters, which drafts are of particular importance for Thuringia’s politics and suggests on how to react. It observes the legislative process and informs interested parties.
Opening Doors Through networking the office provides Thuringian politicians and business partners with appropriate contacts in the EU institutions.
Showcase To present Thuringia and its cultural diversity in Brussels is another important task.

From Aachen, take the E 40 motorway, direction Brussels centre. When the E 40 divides into six lanes, take the far right lane (direction Meiser/ Reyers). Take the exit Reyers. The exit itself divides into two roads of which you take the left one. Right after passing under the bridge you turn left into Boulevard Auguste Reyers. At the third junction turn right into Square Vergote, keep going for about 50 metres till the road hits Rue Frédéric Pelletier. Our office is located in the corner building, number 111.
From North Station (Gare du Nord)
Take Premetro (tram) 25, direction Boondael Gare to Georges Henri station (exit 1 Square Vergote). After a short walk you'll reach our office.
From Central Station (Gare Centrale)
Take Metro 1 direction Stockel, change at Montgomery Station into Premetro (tram) 7, direction Heysel or 25, direction Rogier. Get off at Georges Henri Station (exit 1 Square Vergote). After a short walk you'll reach our office.
From South Station (Gare du Midi)
Take Metro 2 or 6, direction Elisabeth. Change at Arts/Loi station into Metro 1 direction Stockel. Change again at Montgomery Station into Premetro (tram) 7, direction Heysel or 25, direction Rogier. Get off at Georges Henri Station (exit 1 Square Vergote). After a short walk you'll reach our office.
Single tickets are avaible for 2.10 euros (2.50 euros when bought from the driver). After validation you can use them for one hour in Metros, Premetros (trams) and buses. Taking a cab from one of the train stations will be about 15 euros.
Take Bus 12 (direction Brussels City) or 21 (direction Luxembourg). Change at Diamant Station to bus 28 (direction Konkel). Get off at Vergote station. Use the stairs to get to our office.
Trains from Zaventem Airport to several Brussels train stations (for example Schuman, Luxembourg) leave every 20 minutes.
The Representation of the Free State of Thuringia to the European Union serves as a link between the Thuringian State Ministries and the European institutions. Each of the staff is responsible for a particular policy area.
As long as an internship is a mandatory part of their studies, students can apply for short-term internships (Praktikum).
Working language at the office is German.
